Christian Carlsen, who was an Austrian Fulbright Teaching Assistant at UNO, will be continuing his studies at Oxford University (Balliol College) this Fall.

Announcing the Botstiber Fellows at UNO
Dietrich W. Botstiber was a graduate of the Technical University of Vienna and an Austrian emigrant to United States in the late 1930s. He enjoyed a very successful career as an engineer in the field of aeronautics in Philadelphia. After his death, a foundation was set up to foster Austrian-American relations by way of educational exchanges.

A week before Hurricane Katrine hit New Orleans, Dr. Prisching arrived with his family in New Orleans to begin a sabbatical semester at UNO. He moved into a house and was ready to teach a course on “globalization” in the UNO Sociology Department; his plan was write a book on globalization.
