Photo Contest at UNO

20th Anniversary Festivities

Center Austria celebrated its 20th anniversary with a signature event at Napoleon House in New Orleans' French Quarter on Wednesday, October 11, 2017.

Book Presentation at the National WWII Museum

On October 12, 2017, Center Austria Director Günter Bischof and Dr. Hans Petschar of the Austrian National Library presented their book The Marshall Plan - Since 1947 at the National World War II Museum in New Orleans, La. Introductory remarks were delivered by the Museum's Dr. Rob Citino. Ambassador Wolfgang Petritsch, President of the Austrian Marshall Plan Foundation, served as the commentator. 

2017 Radomir Luza Prize Awarded

Wilfried Garscha from the Dokumentationsarchiv des Oesterreichischen Widerstandes (l) and Center Austria's Director Guenter Bischof (r) handed Dr. Erin Hochman of the Southern Methodist University History Department the 2017 Radomir Luza Prize for the best publication in "Central European history in the World War II Era" during the Banquet of the annual meeting of the German Studies Association in Atlanta for her book Imagining a Greater Germany: Republican Nationalism and the Idea of the Anschluss (Cornell UP 2016). The prize money was contributed by the Zukunftsfonds der Republik Oesterreich.
