Center Austria received a grant of $3,000 from the Brunswick G. Deutsch Foundation to further the Center's mission as a hub for European Studies on the UNO campus.
Eberhard Deutsch, the founder of the New Orleans Law Firm” Deutsch, Kerrigan and Stiles” (now “Deutsch Kerrigan LLP”), served as the legal adviser of the American High Commissioner General Mark W. Clark in the Austrian Foundation after World War II. He and his son Brunswick Deutsch, both have served as honorary consuls of the Republic of Austria for Louisiana and Mississippi, as has their law partner Philip D. Lorio III. in their roles as Austrian honorary consuls they have been supportive of all Austrian activities at UNO.
