Raphaela Fischnaller - 2018/19 Center Austria Fellow
I am Raphaela from Innsbruck and I am the Center Austria Fellow till May 2019.
I started my career in the tourism industry. I graduated from a high school of tourism and hotel management and I worked every summer in a hotel abroad. After graduating from high school, I worked for half a year as a receptionist until I decided to attend the University of Innsbruck.
At the University of Innsbruck I am studying political science, as well as economics and administration. As I will finish the bachelor’s program economics and administration in July 2019, I will start the master program “Accounting, Taxation and Auditing” at the University of New Orleans. At present I work for the firm “Die Eule”, which is a therapy center for children. I love my work at the department of quality management, training the new staff of the company. Working in a non-profit center combines my bachelor’s programs perfectly through forcing me to think between economic efficiency and social responsibility.
Irina Pavlovic - 2018/19 Nick Mueller Fellow
As a graduate student of English and Russian and this year's Nick Mueller Fellow, I am working on my final thesis on the contrastive and corrective phonetics and phonology of German, Russian and English, supporting Center Austria and looking forward tospending an academic year in this vibrant American city.
Being an outgoing and cheerful person for the most part, I enjoy traveling and meeting new people. When not so cheerful, I turn to sad 80s music, Fyodor Dostoevsky and Emily Dickinson.
