The City of Innsbruck, a partner city of New Orleans, requested the donation of a genuine New Orleans street lamp in the spring of 2011 from the Mayor's office.

Dr. Jefrey Herf from the University of Maryland in College Park delivered the UNO History Department's 13th George Windell Lecture at the National World War II Museum on January 28.

On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Art Exchange between the City of Innsbruck and the University of New Orleans, the city in cooperation with Hypo Tirol Bank will present the series "Leaves from Innsbruck" on January 31, 2011.
